Combining the OMS extension with the PowerShell DSC extension on Linux VM's

I need all Azure VM's to be configured with update management, and I need to deploy custom software to them. The first requires the OMS extension, the second requires the DCS extension.

According to this page, it's currently not possible to combine the OMS extension with the PowerShell DSC extension on Linux VM's.

"The DSC extension for Linux and the Azure Monitor virtual machine extension for Linux currently present a conflict and aren't supported in a side-by-side configuration. Don't use the two solutions together on the same VM. "

  • Is there a workaround for this issue, so I can meet my requirements?
  • Will this issue be resolved? (the article is from 2018)
