Hi Experts,

I am running into an issue during the upgrade of my sql server 2016 to sql server 2019. my installed default named instance is not detecting by the setup. it only upgrades the shared features. i have tried to repair the sql server 2016 instance but that is also not detecting the instance. it is a strange thing because my instance is working perfectly fine.

Also, any SPs or updates are not installing on that instance, when checked the error logs it says you have not an instance installed in this computer. while my instance is working fine.

FYI, my both installation medias are verified because i have another machine which was installed and upgraded by 2016 and 2019 respectively

please help me out from this issue because this is also happening my production sql as well.
