I have found out that the traffic is being blocked by this Windows Filtering Platform filter, (It's dropping outbound connections and packets, but I do not know why)
Network connectivity issues. Ping yields "General Failure" output (Windows 11)
My laptop is running Win11 22H2, and suddenly today at 1:30 pm I lost connectivity with the internet. Other devices connected to the same router are working just fine, and I have connectivity issues regardless of using wired or wirelss LAN. I've even tried with a Usb WiFi adapter.
I receive IP address from the router and according to the network icon in the notification center I'm connected to the internet just fine. But if I try to browse to a website I'm told that there is no internet connection. Ipconfig information shows that I'm on the correct subnet, but when I try to ping any IP address, such as my local gateway (192.168.1.1), cmd immediately gives "General Failure" output. Test-Netconnection google.com -port 443 in PowerShell shows that,
- I am able to resolve google.com to an IP address, so this is not a DNS issue
- TCP connection on port 443 to google.com can not be made
- Ping fails
- Windows Firewall log shows that outbound connection to google.com on port 443 has been dropped I have updated the firmware/bios and NIC drivers to the latest version, and turned off windows firewall completely, but the problem still persists. Setting for outbound connections on Windows Firewall is "Allow (Default)" on all network profiles
I think some sort of security setting is preventing the computer from connecting to the internet properly. Any help would be appreciated. This is an Intune managed computer.
