How to stop email notifications received due to spammer posts to QA

I receive email notifications for various tags that I follow. Spammers are posting to these tags and even though their posts do not appear on the Q&A site my inbox is being filled by Q&A email notifications generated by their spam postings. How can these spam email notifications be prevented?

Hi,

Only thing I can suggest is to turn off the emails for tags you follow in your settings for a while.

I think a better solution would be for the site to improve its spam filtering.

TP - that is correct - temporarily turning off email notifications off while the team is working to mitigate the current spam attack on Q&A is an option.

The team is actively working to resolve this issue.
