I am using Purview, and have the role of Purview Admin. I am attempting to create a Data Catalog workflow, but am getting an error whenever I try to save the workflow "No items use this workflow". Steps to recreate:
I already have a data catalog with a glossary holding 70+ terms. It is not given as an option in the Apply workflow box. Thanks very much for any help you can provide.

Welcome to the MS Q&A platform.
The reason for receiving the error is you didn't select the workflow scope from the "Apply Workflow" icon.
Once you click on "Apply Workflow", you will see the "workflow scope". Once you select the workflow scope, you should be able to create the data catalog workflow in Purview. If you are still not able to see the workflow scope, please clear your browser cache and try again

Hi Bhargava,
I had same question as Bill and I tried your solution. However, I see only 'Glossary' as Workflow scope but not the level below it. I do have 'Sales' as Business glossary and three terms underneath it (as shown in second screeshot) but don't see Sales to apply the scope. Please let me know if I am missing anything. Thanks.

Today 08-Apr-23 it happens to me too, since this did not happen a few weeks ago. Possibly it is a bug that has been produced by a software update. good morning. No, before it worked without a problem selecting the workflow scope, what happened since Friday was that despite selecting it, it no longer worked. However, I have tested today and it is working again, selecting the workflow scope. Surely that option was in maintenance. Thank you so much thanks
This did not solve the problem. All this person did is to tell me to do the steps #6 and #7 in my reproducible test case.

Bhargava - Eric did NOT say he could see the workflow scope. He said he is having the exact same problem. Also, no workflows are triggering.
It is working for me as well. However, I could only choose the workflow scope at root level. I don't see other two sub glossary levels to select from.

I have the same problem. I was able to create workflow a few weeks ago but it doesn't work anymore...
That's right it worked a few weeks ago and then it stopped working. But I have tested since yesterday and have had no problems this time. I believe that Microsoft has been making improvements to the product, and has degraded this functionality. But as I indicated, now it works correctly for me.

Yes, the issues seems to have been corrected. I can apply workflow scope at lowest grain level. I am assuming this remove the option to apply the workflow scope at root level (if someone wants to do so)?
