I have recently setup a HP DL 180 Gen 10 server (Part No P35519-B21) running a Windows Server 2022 Standard operating system ROK 16 Core (Part : P46171-371). Windows license is activated. The system was running good for 4 days, after which we have setup/ installed RDS on the server (25 users) using the 120 days grace period. The remote users are using the RDS for accessing Tally software on the main server. After 2 days of building the Active directory and starting RDS, the server has now started abruptly shutting down twice of thrice a day. We logged a call to HP Service and given them the AHS log via iLO. The HPE guys say that the hardware reports and system health are completely normal !!! There is no hardware failure in the AHS report. I am in a fix as to what may be the probable cause of the shut down. Has anyone encountered such a problem or can someone help me with a resolution.

Check your event logs for "The license period for this installation of Windows has expired. The operating system will shutdown every hour." Is your version of Windows "registered"?

The event logs may provide some clues. In the case of a BSOD then hardware and or drivers are the likely culprit. If HP ruled out the hardware then the firmware, chipset and driver support pack should be revisited.

system shuts down gracefully without any event log.

This sounds more like the work of some sort of malware or remote scripting.

This was exactly the reason why my machine kept gracefully rebooting!

Thanks for the pointing that out.
