Afaik there is no configurable option for this, when it comes to the mobile Outlook client.

The maxagelimit policy to set a max age limit for outlook mobile seems to work only for eas and not for outlook mobile using the new Microsoft sync technology. Checked intune mdm too and there doesn't seem to be any equivalent policy. Is there anybway to set this limit for outlook mobile?

I am afraid no, currently it's not feasible for Outlook mobile that uses the native Microsoft sync technology.
