How to shrink Hyper-V VHD partition

When I set up the Hyper-V environment for the 5 VM systems, I gave them all a fixed amount of disk space. Now I need to re-size them. Some need to expand (which I can do), but I need to shrink others to free up space.

What is the process to shrink the VHD?

    It is a vhdx disk.

    Hi @John Lenz ,

    Are you attempting to shrink VHD or VHDX disks? Shrinking of VHDs is not possible.
