SharePoint 2016 Cloud Search Service Restart?

Can you restart a Cloud SSA on premise without worrying about the topology? I know with on premise SSA you have to remove the topology first.

    I believe it's same for cloud search Service application as well, since you are performing stop and start commands on SP On-Premises you should be removing all search topology on the associated server from the active topology and then restart the search service.

    Have you removed the cloud search service application before?

    Statement from Microsoft:

    “The search topology of the cloud SSA consists of the same types of search components and databases as the search topology of a standard SSA in SharePoint Server 2016. But there are some differences.”

    If you have removed Cloud Hybrid Search, you need to reconfigure the Cloud Search Service on your SharePoint 2016.
