I'm getting this error message: windows update error 80072efe. The OS is windows server 2012 R2.

Some people proposed stopping cryptographic services and deleting catroot2 folder. The problem is that i can't stop cryptographic services in any way.

Whenever i stop it and try to delete catroot, it automatically restarts the service! Is there any way to solve this problem?

I also tried TDSSKiller as mentioned in other threads, but found no virus

I'm also attaching the update.log:

31176-updatelog.txt.

    Hi,
The error code 80072efe indicates: The connection with the server was terminated abnormally.
Please Make sure there are no firewall rules or proxy to block Microsoft download URLs.

    You could try the following:

    1. Click on Start, and then click Run.
    2. Type cmd in the Open box to get a DOS prompt.
    3. Type "net stop wuauserv" without the quotes at the command prompt, and press Enter.
    4. Delete (or put in recycle bin) the contents of C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution (but not the SoftwareDistribution folder)
    5. Type net start wuauserv at the command prompt, and press Enter.
    6. Now try Windows Update again.

    Best regards.

I'd make sure the problematic one has access to

Also as a work-around for the problematic one you can download from update catalog and install them manually.

Looks like there may be something blocking access to windows update site.
