Where working with iOS devices (iPhone 8) currently with iOS 13 and 14.

Users in our company had the opportunity to 'Delete Required apps'.
In case of an issue with an app user can delete the app, and it will be enrolled for a new setup by intune.

But since iOS 14 they cannot no longer delete apps by themselves. the get a message 'Removal not allowed, This app cannot be removed because <company name> requires it '

  • Our Restrictions policy for iOS devices "Block app removal (supervised only)" is set to 'Not Configured'
  • I now changed the 'App assignments' to define a group which I temporarly link to the 'Uninstall' Assignment, and removing the 'Required Assignments' This is however a very cumbersome process.

Please understand since the upgrade of iOS 14 and the new enhachment in Intune it's not supported for supervised devices to remove required apps currently. Some end users have already post such request in Intune UserVoice, I think you can vote the following ticket to address this issue. What about removing non-required apps, ie apps downloaded from the AppStore by the end user? My users can't remove any apps even ones that were purchase or installed from an iCloud backup. Also they cannot rearrange the apps or group them into folders.
