I would like to get your support regarding the endpoint data loss prevention (DLP). According to MS articles, DLP is provided in Microsoft Business Premium license and according to the article, if all the devices are onboarded successfully by MDE can apply the DLP policies, only need to “Turn on the device monitoring”. However, under the device management in the Purview, the page is all grey out and it said our organization is missing the license to get this service. Please check the attached “Addvalue_DLP_Portal.JPG”. I would like to know that following queries–

1.Do we need add-on or upgrade license to use DLP part? 2.We just want to try the DLP part only first, in my understanding DLP is supported in Business Premium, is it supported limited service only? If yes, I want to know what the limited services of DLP we can use under the Business Premium license? 3.If we can’t use any of the DLP services and need to add on the license, what is the license we have to add on and how much will be per user/per month? The following screen shot is from Microsoft article, Image

DLP is quite broad nowadays, and not every license includes all its functionalities. For a detailed overview, refer to the official licensing guide for Security and Compliance: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/microsoft-365-service-descriptions/microsoft-365-tenantlevel-services-licensing-guidance/microsoft-365-security-compliance-licensing-guidance#microsoft-purview-data-loss-prevention-endpoint-data-loss-protection-dlp As you can see from the document, Business Premium SKUs do not qualify for Endpoint DLP. You can however get a free trial of the E5 Compliance add-on and try it before committing.
