The clone disk did have this problem with index option on Win10.

Have you tried to instead of assigning a drive letter, assign a mount point folder path to a drive?

Windows 10 is seaching the wrong drive

Windows 10 is searching the wrong drive. I have a cloned drive F:\ . When I set the search indexer to only search the C:\ it changes it back to F:\ no matter what I do. These windows 10 search problems have been driving me crazy for about 10 months. This was never an issue on windows 7 to have a cloned drive. Windows support recommended I completely reinstall windows so I did and still have the same issues. I believe the issue is related to have a cloned drive on the system, but I can't figure out how to fix this.
