How do I mount and access .vhdx image files from my external hard drive?

I am trying to restore some backed up Hard Disk Image Files (vhdx) to my new laptop. The files were created on a Windows 10 laptop, and my new laptop runs Windows 10 as well. The vhdx files were backed up to an external hard drive that is NTFS formatted. When I try to mount the vhdx file on my new laptop, it says gives me the following error message. I have tried to attach it in Disk Management and it says that it's already attached. Not sure where to go from here. Please help.

Hello Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query\issues related to Mount of .vhdx image.

    1. Disable any Antivirus program or Windows firewall you may have for temporary purpose.
    2. Reboot your PC
    3. Go to Disk Management -> Click on Action -> Attach vhd -> Select path of .vhdx file -> Tick on CheckBox ReadOnly -> Click OK. --If the reply is helpful, please Upvote and Accept as answer--
