How to fix The handle is invalid.(Exception from HRESULT: 0X80070006(E_HANDLE))

Question

The error pops up when I trying to download any MSDN files in Microsoft Helper Viewer 2.3, please refer to the screen shot attached. Error: An error occurred while updating content: The handle is invalid.(Exception from HRESULT: 0X80070006(E_HANDLE))

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A! 

Are you using the VS2022? Please update it to the latest version with Visual Studio Installer. 

The error 0X80070006 usually means a permission issue.

You must have administrator rights to update and add the local help contents.

Please check if you have necessary permissions to access the C:\MSDN file. 

Meanwhile, you must have internet to online add help contents.
