I downloaded the azure storage account option to use it to backup data on the OneDrive account on my PC however, I do not know how to do this. I have created the account but does it automatically start backing up files on my PC?

@Katherine Powell Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum, Thank you for posting your query here!  The Azure Storage account is a cloud-based storage solution that provides a scalable and secure way to store and access data. However, it is not designed to automatically backup files on your PC. To backup files from your PC to Azure Storage, you can use Azure Backup or Azure Site Recovery. Here are the general steps you can follow:

    • ·       Here are the steps to backup your OneDrive data using Azure Storage Account:
    • ·       Open the Azure portal and sign in with your Microsoft account.
    • ·       Create a new storage account by clicking on the "Create a resource" button in the top left corner of the portal.
    • ·       Select "Storage Account" from the list of available resources, and provide the necessary details such as subscription, resource group, storage account name, location, and performance options.
    • ·       Once the storage account is created, click on the "Blob service" option under the "Settings" tab.
    • ·       Create a new container in the storage account by clicking on the "+ Container" button.
    • ·       Open the Azure Backup service and select "Backup Items" from the left-hand menu.
    • ·       Click on the "Add" button to add a new backup item, and select "File and Folder" from the list of available options.
    • ·       Select the "OneDrive" option as the file or folder location to be backed up.
    • ·       Select the created storage account and the container for the backup files to be stored.
    • ·       Configure the backup settings, such as backup frequency, retention range, and encryption settings. ·       Finally, click on the "Enable Backup" button to start backing up your OneDrive data to the Azure Storage Account. Once the backup is enabled, it will automatically start backing up your OneDrive data to the configured storage account. Note: It's important to note that Azure Backup is designed to backup files and folders on your PC, and not directly backup data in OneDrive. Therefore, you will need to configure the Azure Backup agent to backup the OneDrive folder on your PC, which will include any files and folders that are synced to your OneDrive account.  Additional information: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/728272/how-to-make-backups-for-all-emails-and-onedrive-da  Please let us know if you have any further queries.
