Hello EE,

Here is the thing: if I try to run message tracking log in Exchange admin center, the log can only display the messages sent to Sept, the messages sent in Oct won't be tracked. While if I use Exchange management shell to run Get-MessageTrackingLog cmdlet, the log includes the messages sent in Oct. What's wrong with the ECP?

    Hi @67085432 ,
Which version of your Exchange is?
Does this problem occur in all the mailboxes you specify in the EAC or is there only one specific mailbox?

    1. Please try to send a test email from a specific mailbox and check whether it can be searched using delivery report.
    2. Delivery report can only be sent to or received from a specified mailbox, so please confirm whether the October mail matches.
    3. According to the Microsoft official document, Delivery Reports only could tracks messages sent by people using the Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Web App email clients.

In addition, what is the specific content of the command line and search results you used, if possible, please share with us, but you need to pay attention to hiding your personal information.

About the different between delivery report in EAC and Get-MessagetrackingLog in EMS. The manager's delivery report uses the EAC to perform a directed search on the message tracking log, searching for mail sent or received by a specific mailbox. Its corresponding command line is “Search-MessageTrackingReport”and “Get-MessageTrackingReport”. Get-MessageTrackingLog cmdlet could search for message delivery information stored in the message tracking log. The message tracking log is contains detailed information about the history of each email message as it travels through an Exchange server. In contrast, running Get-MessageTrackingLog directly in EMS has more powerful functions.

To make it clear, what's the difference from message tracking log in EAC and Get-MessageTrackingLog cmdlet in Exchange management shell?

    Hi Lucas,

Appreciate for your detailed info. My customer has closed the case so I cannot provide further info.

"delivery report uses the EAC to perform a directed search on the mail tracking log", so the mail tracking log is different from the message tracking log? If so, where is the mail tracking log stored?

    Thanks,
