DFS domain name space is connecting to different domain contoller in another site

Hi team,

We were trying to configure DFS share with domain name space. Currently we have 6 sites . Site A,B,C,D,E,F

When i am calling a name space \ABC.com\xx share from site A, it is connecting to domain controller in site B and each time its taking different DC.

Is there any option to configure DFS to connect to domain controller in site A , if i am calling the share from site A and if i call the dfs share from site B it should connect to domain controller in site B

To know your questions more clearly, please confirm the following questions:
Where are the folder targets located for this share (\ABC.com\xx share)
Do you mean you have different folder targets in different sites ,and you want the clients to locate the local shares within the same sites
Or you mean they connect to different domain controller in another site for authentication?

Hi

Actually we have to access restriction in site A and Site B . Computers in site A only have access to site A DC and computer iin Site B have access to Site B DC. So when DFS domain name space calls \ABC.com\ from site A machine, DNS resolve to Site B DC ip of ABC domain and trying to connect to site B DC . As the connection is not there the folder mapping fails.

One more thing we are trying this in Linux domain joined machine and configured ad_site in sssd.conf file

Based on my understanding , if you want the clients to access the shared folder target within it's own site, (if i misunderstand you ,please let me know), we can configure it from the DFSN server as following：
Right click the DFS-N or links and select properties ,on the referrals tab, select exclude targets outside of the client's site.
