Liebe Kolleginnen, liebe Kollegen

    Dear colleagues
The Edge Browser no longer allows links to documents that are on a file server. In addition, no so-called white list (exception rule) can be stored in the Edge browser. The attempt to open linked documents / folders with the Edge Browser in IE11 mode also failed.
For this reason, documents / folders linked in Adonis NP can currently only be opened on FileBS with IE11. This does not work with the Edge Browser.
Many thanks for any questions or constructive suggestions for solutions.
    Many greetings
    Juerg

It's a comman behavior of modern browsers that we can't link to file protocol from a page serving in http protocol for security reasons.

As a workaround, you can use this extension in Edge Chromium. It's an extension for Chrome which also works for Edge. To use Chrome extensions in Edge, you need to enable Allow extensions from other stores, then click Add to Chrome.

But the best practice is serving the file you want to open on network with http protocol and link it with http protocol.

Thanks for the tips - we have the same "problem" and cannot solve it via http links.

In the meantime we have solved this by opening our intranet pages with the file links in IE mode. Then the links work again. Of course this is not a permanent solution.

A small suggestion for improvement: Intranet pages should have at least one option to open file links. Possibly via GPO or something like "Allow file links on following page...".
