Rule not working when condition has been met when creating a list entry via grid view

Hi Team I've created a rule in a modern SharePoint list to notify myself and a few others in the team when the field is set to "Yes" When creating entries via grid view, it doesn't seem to trigger the rule to notify us, however when in the form and we change the field to "Yes", the rule works. Is there any reason why the rule doesn't work when in creating a List entry in grid view?

Regards,
Harry

    Hi @Harry N Nomikos,

Is your rule like the screenshot below?

If yes, adding a new item under grid view won't trigger the rule. This is by design because the trigger of the rule is "a column value changes" which the rule can only be triggered if the user changes the field value of an existing item. Creating items does not belong to changing item. That's why creating items and set the field value to "Yes" didn't trigger the rule but editing in the EditForm successed.

If you still want the team to be notified, you need to integrate your list with Power Automate flow.

Build a flow like this (Set the trigger of this flow to When an item is created or modified):

I also received the email after creating an item under grid view.
