My company is currently rolling out computers that are using the Win 10 Multi-app Kiosk mode. We've been researching, and even using ChatGPT, but have been unable to find a definitive answer for our question. The question we are trying to find an answer to is, can the immersive shell (the window that the tiles reside on) be set to 100% transparency? As it is right now, we can either have a solid immersive shell or a partly transparent shell. The partly transparent shell is grey which makes the background and BGInfo look much darker than what they are.

Is there a way to have a clear, no color immersive shell?

Hi, I'd be happy to help you out with your question. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to set the immersive shell to be completely transparent in this mode. However, you can adjust the opacity of the shell to a certain degree using the "ImmersiveShellBackgroundOpacity" setting in the kiosk configuration file. By default, the value for "ImmersiveShellBackgroundOpacity" is set to 0.4, which results in a partially transparent grey background. You can experiment with different opacity values, but you will not be able to achieve a completely transparent immersive shell. As a workaround, you might want to consider using a custom wallpaper that matches the background color of your BGInfo or other applications. This may make the grey background of the immersive shell less noticeable and provide a more seamless user experience. If you have any other questions or need assistance with anything, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm here to help.
