Can we establish a linked server connection between dedicated sql pool and sql server 2014/2016? if yes, How? give me the proper explanation and answers.

    Azure Synapse Link is only available for Azure SQL Database or SQL Server 2022. You can however create a connection to you SQL Server 2014/2016 in Azure Data Factory and use that to push your table data into a Synapse Dedicated Pool

    My understanding is that you are trying to establish a linked server connection between dedicated sql pool and sql server 2014/2016.

    In addition to @Martin Cairney answer It is not possible to establish a linked server connection between Azure dedicated SQL pool and SQL Server 2014/2016.

    However, you can use Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Pipelines to move data between Azure Synapse Analytics and SQL Server 2014/2016. Azure Data Factory supports a wide range of data sources and destinations, including SQL Server 2014/2016, and can be used to move data between them.
