Do we need company portal app for app protection policy to be applied or no? As I tested this by creating the App protection policy and found that I was able to login with work on account on outlook app without company portal app and policy was kicked in with all the settings on device like pin setup and others.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

==>In that scenario I am asking do we need Company portal app or any specific settings/configuration apart from App protection policy?

Agree with @Rahul Jindal . For your scenario:

Microsoft Authenticator (broker app) is required on the iOS platform.

Microsoft Company Portal (broker app) is required on the Android platform.

Refer to: Intune MAM Without Enrollment (MAM-WE) for iOS/Android

Note: This is non-Microsoft link, just for your reference.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,
    Simon
