Windows Monitoring Tools

I am reviewing the tools we use for monitoring, patching and general server management. We currently use WSUS for managing server security compliance. WSUS doesn’t support Linux patching, and we have an ever-increasing Linux estate to manage. Previously when we had SharePoint on-premises we used a SCOM, Visio and SharePoint Mash ups for displaying and reporting server health and alerts. These mash ups no longer work now that we have migrated to SharePoint Online. Rather than simply try to recreate what we previously had we would like to consider all options; Microsoft 365 or otherwise. I am curious to know what people are using. Were you like us heavily on-premises Microsoft based and moved to cloud based alternatives? • Security Compliance: do you use WSUS or some other product and does it support Linux and Windows operating systems. • Server Monitoring: Is there a Microsoft 365 tool that would provide a health reporting and alerting tool. • Server Management: is there a better alternative to Windows Admin Centre? Does it support Linux operating systems?

You may consider SCOM which provides advance monitoring for Windows and Unix-based devices. Have a look at: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/system-center/scom/get-started
