Can users turn off notifications in Teams Chat

Our organisation uses Teams chats rather frequently, both for formal and informal communications. There is a feature in the Teams app, that tells members, via a small purple bar above the text input field, if other members of the chat are marked as busy/absent (I believe it draws from their Outlook calendars). In our case, it means that bar is constantly shown. It can be clicked away, but whenever I leave the chat or open another one, I am reminded once again. By and large, the notification holds useless information and, besides cluttering the UI, it annoys me to end to have to manually remove it some 50-60 times a day.
Could this notification bar be turned off permanently? Either locally for the individual user, or for the chat itself (by whoever owns/started it)?

Hi @Benjamin Halkier Could you please tell me: Is the bar on the text input box as shown in the picture below when you send a message?

After my test, this is caused by the status message set by the other party. User's image

As Vasil Michev said, this issue is by design, I'm afraid it is not available for now.To get this feature more quickly, I have found a feedback in Teams UserVoice and you could vote for it. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future. Thanks for your understanding and support.

Unfortunately, no, even though this is a very common complaint. Go vote it up over at the Feedback portal, Microsoft will eventually cave in: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/15d76863-6ed8-ec11-a81b-000d3a03dba2

    Hi @Vasil Michev and @Anonymous User's image

I've added a partial screendump to show you and others what I am referring to. I've realised that the bar is purple on my end, probably because I have the app set to run in dark mode. It might look different in other modes. But thank you for your replies, both of you. Even though they are slightly disheartening, your replies are not surprising. The ability to customise features in Microsoft products have never really been something users could expect. I'll upvote where I can.
