WSL could not work after restarting, with ERROR 0x80004002

Question

I would like to install Windows Subsystems for Linux (WSL) in my desk computer, which needs to restart the computer. But when the computer restarting, it notes that seething is UNABLE to update, and configuration will be revoked. After restarted, the WSL is still not work with ERROR 0x80004002.

Can you double check that the Windows Subsystem for Linux optional feature is still enabled? The below steps will reset the Windows update components and see if that helps Open Command Prompt (Admin) Copy and paste the following commands, pressing Enter each time: net stop wuauserv net stop cryptSvc net stop bits net stop msiserver Press Win + E to open File Explorer Go to the following directories and delete the contents of these folders: C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution Open Command Prompt again and paste these command lines: net start wuauserv net start cryptSvc net start bits net start msiserver Restart your PC.
