RESOLVED - ANSWER BELOW

Having an issue with multiple home laptops/PCs dealing with a slow boot time and takes 20+ mins to get to the login screen. Just leaves the user with a spinning circle and "Please wait" message (screenshot attached). Only started happening within the last week. Happening on brand new laptops that have only been issued and older ones that have been used for 2+ years. All are on our domain but it's only devices used by staff at home/outside of the office that are experiencing issues. Currently going through all troubleshooting steps, just wondering if anyone has experienced anything recently that maybe it could be caused by a recent update?Screenshot-20210904-184754

1.Check the Windows event logs to see if there are any errors or warnings that may point to the cause of the slow startup. You can access event logs by clicking the "Start" button. Click "Control Panel" > "System and Security" > "Administrative Tools", and then double-click "Event Viewer"

2.Try booting in safe mode and check if it starts up faster. If so, it could indicate that one of your programs or drivers is responsible for the slow startup. 3.You can try a clean boot.

Hello there, Do you have any GPO that creates a Roaming profile while setting up the users? Actually, there are a number of reasons why Group Policies take a long time to be applied: these can be DNS issues, DC availability and the speed of connection to it, wrong configuration of AD sites or replication problems, misconfigured group policies, incorrect scripts, etc. To make sure that the issue is related to the domain GPO, create a separate OU in the domain and move the problem computer to it. Then using Group Policy Management Console (GPMC.msc) enable blocking of policy inheritance for this container (Block Inheritance). Thus, all domain policies will stop to be applied to this container. Hope this resolves your Query !! --If the reply is helpful, please Upvote and Accept it as an answer--

So the issue actually appeared on my own laptop which made it easier for us to go through the event logs and pinpoint what was taking the longest at start up.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System\GpNetworkStartTimeoutPolicyValue

The above registry path had a decimal value of 600 which we changed down to 30. This has now resolved the issue for all affected users.
