None of the bash commands work in the sandbox. Every command produces an error.

    Hi,

Please make sure you Activate a new sandbox and complete Unit 3 Exercise - Create an Azure Virtual Machine right before you attempt to complete Unit 9 Exercise - Configure Network Access. These two exercises are intended to be completed in one sitting, within the 1 hour sandbox lifetime.

If the above is helpful please click Accept Answer. If you follow the above and you still have issues please copy the error message(s) you are receiving and the precise step you are attempting when the error occurred and post in a comment below. Thanks.

    Hello, @James Logan !

    Where am I seeing this?

Why am I getting errors when attempting the exercise?

The usual cause of errors for this exercise is completing the prerequisite exercise (Unit 3 of 14 Exercise - Create an Azure Virtual Machine) within an hour before resources are cleaned up as TP mentioned but usually that results in a single error.

If you are getting errors regardless of what you enter, I would:

    • Confirm the prerequisite has been completed less than 1 hour ago
    • Reload/restart the sandbox (to clear any Cloud Shell/Sandbox issues)
    • Check the commands against those in the exercise (see below)

For reference, this is an example of what this unit looks like when it is completed:

    I hope this helps!
