Hi, please help me out, I'm so confused here. I made a free account with Azure to use azure sql server and database. So far I haven't been charged, but 30 days are up and my subscription expired but my server and database are still showing as available. I'm aware the sql database will remain free for 12 months after upgrading, but what about azure sql server? I can't find any billing information or pricing associated with it. Also, my free credit was being used up during the 30 days so I'm not sure if I was being charged for the server. I want to keep the database for as long as I can for free (it's just for a project I'm working on). Is it safe to update my account to pay as you go? If I am accidentally charged by azure, can I dispute this?

Hi, If you move to pay as you go, you’ll only be charged for services that you use above the free monthly amounts. However you can check your usage and charges in the portal - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/check-free-service-usage Also you can contact the sales and billing team for more clarification - Contact Sales by chat, phone, or email and we'll be happy to answer any questions you have. Please Accept the answer if the information helped you. This will help us and others in the community as well.

Hey, Azure SQL Server is just a logical layer similar to Resource group. So just having an Azure SQL server wont incorporate you any charge. Hosting database within that server would incorporate you charges based on the database tier and type. And I agree with Jimmy w.r.t other aspects of Pay as you go aspect

I was charged 6 dollars for an SQL server for few days that didn't even work. Please give me a refund. This is an absurd to get charged so much and you can't even know why.
