How to receive email in focused inbox

Question

I’m receiving most of outside emails that are going to our group email address instead of each memer’s focused inbox. We are missing important emails. Any suggestions?

Hello Thank you for your question and reaching out. Your email is intelligently pre-sorted by Focused Inbox so you can concentrate on what is important. Your most crucial emails are stored in "Focused" while the remainder are kept in "Other." Your personal and work email accounts are all compatible with Focused Inbox. The technology filters away distracting sources like automatically generated or bulk email in order to give you an inbox that "feels right" to you. It also takes into consideration emails and contacts that you interact with. It gets better the more you use it. Users can easily sort their email with the help of the Focused Inbox REST API, which offers Microsoft 365 mailbox message classification and training. However, the Microsoft 365 Shared mailbox is not supported by this API. For shared mailboxes, Outlook for Windows currently shows "Focused Inbox" tips. This behaviour is surprising. Is the group email address a Microsoft 365 group or a distribution list?

If it is a Microsoft 365 group, this may be the expected behavior as it has a standalone group mailbox to receive emails.

And if Members of this group haven't subscribed yet, they may need to subscribe to this group mailbox first to receive emails which are sent to this group address.
