Editing Opens Up MS Word Document Instead of Publisher Edit

Help! I need this fixed in the next couple of days due to a deadline! I've been using Publisher for 10+ years to create a booklet. For some reason when I go to update last year's booklet or do any kind of editing (even new document), Publisher opens up a Word document window to do the editing. This is crazy because I can make edits in Word but they don't show up on the Publisher document. It still shows last year's texts. How can I get Publisher to do the edits in a Publisher window?
