Facing issues while trying to delete an ADF trigger (Error message reads Internal error has occurred and no detailed logs).

While trying to delete an ADF trigger (trigger name contains two special characters) facing internal error has occurred and not much detailed logs on it. Tried deleting the trigger both via UI and CLI but same response. Need to delete the trigger as it's a blocking issue.

As per my understanding, you are trying to delete a trigger, but it is throwing an Internal Error without detailed description.

Have followed below steps to make sure no other pipelines are dependent on it?

Please check below:

Check if the trigger is being used by any pipelines. If the trigger is being used, you will need to remove the dependencies and publish changes before you can delete the trigger.

You can use Triggers - Get REST API to get the list of pipelines that are dependent on this trigger.

GET https://management.azure.com/subscriptions/{subscriptionId}/resourceGroups/{resourceGroupName}/providers/Microsoft.DataFactory/factories/{factoryName}/triggers/{triggerName}?api-version=2018-06-01

OR

You can also check the dependencies from Manage Tab from ADF studio as shown below.

If the above didn't help, then please give a try deleting the trigger using a different browser and see if it makes a difference (I'm sure this won't be the case as you mentioned CLI has also thrown the same error). Sometimes, browser issues can cause errors while deleting triggers.

In addition, please make sure to check if you have the necessary permissions to delete the trigger.

If none of the above step's work, I recommend filing a support ticket for deeper investigation.

Figured out that the trigger has no related dependencies.

I do have delete permissions but unable to delete this particular trigger.

That is really strange. If there are no dependencies and you have enough permissions to delete triggers then you should be able to do it. But in your case it is very strange.

If you have a support plan, please file a support ticket for deeper investigation and do share the SR# with us here to so that we can track it internally. Incase If you don't have a support plan, please let me know here.
