Visual Studio 2022 not responding when saving a design file

I am trying to add a new component to a design file, but whenever I try to save after adding it, Visual Studio stops responding and I have to close it. I have tried even deleting things from the design, but saving after that also leads to the same result. This is only happening with one specific design file, as I try modifying other design files and they have no issues. The file causing the problem is fairly complex, with lots of other control panels on it, which I imagine is contributing to the issue. I have tried telling the OS to prioritize the memory of Visual Studio, as well as optimize for performance, but neither had an impact. I looked at the memory usage of the program when the issue occurs, and it seems to not have any noticeable spike. I have also tried on a different computer, albeit with similar specs, and it still had the same issue. If there are any ideas as to how to fix this, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My specs are:
32 GB RAM @ 2400 MHz
Intel (R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1225 v6 @ 3.30GHz

Hello, what are your project type and language? What is the component?

If possible, please share us some reproduce steps on how to add the component to the design file.

The project is in WinForms, and the language is C#. The component I am adding to is a custom panel containing some text boxes, as well as few other custom panels. Each of these inner custom panels contain 2 more custom panels, and those each have some textboxes and buttons. When I try modifying the main component in any way, if I save after doing so, Visual Studio will crash. I have also noticed that the 2nd layer panels will also crash if I modify those in their respective design view. This second layer each only contains 2 inner panels and 1 label. The two innermost panels have 3 textboxes, 3 labels, 1 checkbox, and 1 button. This does not seem like enough to make the IDE crash, so I assume something else must be going wrong.

As you said, the problem occurs in a specific situation, so I can't reproduce it. At present, you have located the problem in the nesting of components. I think the problem may be in the dependencies of the components. Excessive nesting should be the cause of this problem. Are there any error messages? Your problem might be on the second layer of panels or something further inside, try disassembling them and finding the source.
