In Teams I needed to covert my educational Wiki pages to OneNote for unknown and alarming stupid reasons, but I'm having text layout issues. For some reason it's making the word wrap happen at halfway across the page. How do I fix the text engine to make text not wrap until it reaches the end of the page? Obviously OneNote is a terrible replacement the Wiki but I'm not the one who mandated this on short notice and decided to tell everyone to convert all Wiki to OneNote pages, that's MS.

    Hi @41844108

OneNote is not a word processor, so the numbers in the Paragraph Spacing dialog box work slightly differently than numbers in Microsoft Word and other Office programs.

In the Paragraph Spacing dialog box, the numbers in the Before and After boxes can cause confusing results, depending on how the text is formatted.

Unlike Word, OneNote doesn't show hidden paragraph marks. If you use soft line breaks (Shift+Enter) in your notes, OneNote treats the text as part of the same paragraph and applies spacing only before or after the entire block of text (paragraph) (before or after hard paragraph return (Enter).

I would like to provide a workaround for my situation, as I encountered this issue myself and this was the first result upon a google search.

My situation: I have a OneNote page with both text and tables in it. The text starts wrapping once about halfway across the page width.

My problem: The tables essentially prevented the right side of the page's textbox from working properly to extend where the text wrapped.

My solution: The tables must be removed, shrunk, or collapsed until only the text is visible. Once this is done, the right side of the page's textbox can be accessed and properly extended. Then the tables can be replaced, extended, or un-collapsed. For me, I went with the collapsing route:

    1. I added some filler text above my page.
    2. I selected all of my page below this filler text, including text and tables.
    3. I indented them once.
    4. At the top, at my filler text, I double-clicked on the little arrow/marker on the left side to collapse the rest of my page.
    5. I was then able to adjust the right side of the page's textbox properly, to where I needed it.
    6. I again double-clicked on the little arrow/marker on the left side of my filler text to un-collapse the rest of my page.
    7. I deleted the filler text.

I hope this helps anyone with a similar issue.
