    Hello there,

Both antiviruses offer excellent protection against real-time malware attacks, phishing, and other online threats, but Microsoft Defender offers near-perfect protection, while McAfee protects you from 100% of threats online and offline.

Microsoft has made some great improvements and developments over the last few years when it comes to Windows Defender making it a great security software these days. It will not slow your PC, it is Free and will work for most of the web browsers like Chrome. I recommend not to renew your subscription with McAfee and start using Microsoft's built-in Security software.

Hope this resolves your Query !!

Windows Defender provides basic antivirus protection and is generally considered to be sufficient for most users. It offers real-time protection against viruses, malware, and other security threats, as well as the ability to perform regular scans and remove any detected threats.

While McAfee does offer additional features such as firewall protection and identity theft protection, Windows Defender has been shown to be effective at detecting and removing viruses and malware. Additionally, Windows Defender is updated regularly through Windows Update, which helps to ensure that it stays up-to-date with the latest threats.

Also, McAfee offers dedicated customer support, while Windows Defender relies on Microsoft's general support channels.

Microsoft is making this issue very confusing. Windows defender no longer exists, it has been renamed windows security. Microsoft defender is antivirus that MUST BE PURCHASED with a microsoft 365 account. I think it might be helpful if microsoft would employ more distinctive terminology.

Microsoft Defender or Windows Security contains Anti-Malware engine which protects you against Virus, Worm, Trojan, Spyware, Adware and so on. Then you have Windows Firewall which protect your network and you have SmartScreen filter on Microsoft Edge to protect you against harmful website, so Microsoft Defender is one layer of defense and you have other security features. Security features in Windows are providing you sufficient protection as long you they stay update. However, if you want to use McAfee or different Anti-Malware product, you may do that but it is not mandatory and it is your choice.
