Need to have MS Teams federation between two organizations but access to only specific users or specific departments.

Is there a way where we can create a group of users in Teams in the organization "A" (e.g. Security Team) consisting of 10 members and allow only them to chat and Call a set of (10-15 users) from the organization "B"?

The idea is to limit only certain selected users from company A to have this facility of Interacting with limited users in company B. Other users need not require this privilege of communication over teams to external entities (company B) and vice-versa.

This is just to limit the threat exposure, instead of every user in an organization having this access to communicate we are limiting it to a few.

Is that possible to implement?

Regards

SAM

    Hi @SAM2023

    Could you please tell me:

Do you want to restrict specific users in your organization to communicate with specific users in the other organization?

I am afraid this is currently not feasible. You can only enable user external access policies to restrict specific users in your organization from communicating with all users in the other organization rather than specific users.

To get this feature more quickly, I have found a feedback in Teams UserVoice and you could vote for it. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future. Thanks for your understanding and support.
