Open Settingswith the Win + I hotkey.
Click on Apps on the left pane.
Choose Apps & features.
Locate Microsoft Photos, and click on the three dots present next to the name.
Choose Advanced options.
Click on Repair under the Reset section

When I click on my image to view it larger it doesn't show the full image and I can't figure out how to show the whole image

Does this issue only ccour with photos in local OneDrive folder or with all photos in Windows Explorer?
Could you please share us with a related screenshot for better analysis?
I suggest you change a Photo viewer to have a check.
It's also recommended to update OneDrive client. You may install the newest one from article "OneDrive release notes".
