unable to log in to my OneNote for my school account

I've been having problems signing in to my onenote on my school account.

On the Onenote app, it was shown that changes are saved offline, and that I had to sign-in to sync my changes. When I tried signing in (in order to sync my changes), I keyed-in my password and the verification code that was sent to my phone number. Then, a page that said "Just a moment..." would appear, and I would have to wait for a very long time before the page disappeared. After that log-in page disappeared, my work on Onenote was still "saved offline" (as seen on the Onenote app itself). I still don't seem to be able to sign in and change the status of my work on Onenote to be completely synced. I would have to wait at the log-in loading page for a long time, but after that, I still was not logged-in, and my work was said to still be "saved offline". I have already tried logging in multiple times, only to no avail.

However, despite the app saying that my work was only "saved offline", I was still able to make changes to my work as per normal, and my work seemed to be saved and synced across all of my other devices. It was only until I had to copy a OneNote page from my teacher's content library to my personal section that I started having problems; I received a pop-up notification that OneNote could not allow me to copy a page from the content library because I was not synced.

How do I fix this problem?

    Hi @Cora Jennings

Are your affected notebooks stored in OneDrive for Business?

Currently I suggest you try following steps to have a check:

    • Please go to Windows settings > Accounts > Access work or school, if your school account is connected, I suggest you disconnect it temporarily.
    • Search 'credential manager' in the search box and select Credential Manager Control panel. Select Windows Credentials and check whether there is any credential of your school account for Office apps. If yes, please remove it.
    • Then please check your internet connection. If conditions permit, you may change the network environment, such as trying to use a mobile phone hotspot.
    • Go to OneNote > File > Info > View Sync Status > Click "Sync Now" for your workbook, and check whether there is any error code. If yes, please share with us for better analysis.
    • Besides, on the Info tab, copy the URL of your affected notebook, paste the URL to browser address box and press Enter to open the notebook in OneNote for the web. I suggest you check whether the notebooks are synced successfully.

Please note, for notebooks that stored in OneDrive for Business, their URL will includ the my.sharepoint.com/personal/, like the following image.

Any updates, welcome to post back.
