Hi

Word version 16 for MAC

Is there a way of disabling automatic autocorrect and spell check for the comment section only, while still keeping it active for the actual contents of the document? Esspecialy big problem with not supported languages. Some Languages are supported in the main document but not in the comments.

I'm running Word version 16 on a Mac and I have gone through all the settings but couldn't find any way to do this. It is especially annoying since I often collaborate with people and we use different languages in our communication, which results in our comments being autocorrected in a very ugly way or underlined in red because of the spell checker.

Anyway, going through each and every comment to mark them in their respective language is cumbersome, Cmd+A selects either only the contents of the document or the contents of an individual comment (so there's no way to select all comments) and disabling spell check in general doesn't cut it for me - I still need to make sure that my documents contain no typos.

Thanks for your feedback!

    Hi @Romas Beinoras,

It appears that there is currently no way to only disable autocorrect and spell check for the comment section only. This is by design from Microsoft side. You can consider using the good ole Command+Z to Undo the correction when it is made.

Also, You can use File> Feedback in the Word menu to plead your case. Or you can raise a thread in the Office Word feedback portal: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/fb6d67e3-301c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472You won't get a personal reply but responsible suggestions/requests go directly to the development team for consideration.
