How to stop metadata from disappearing on SharePoint Online documents?

We are facing a strange issue where metadata is disappearing on recently uploaded document. We have noticed that this issue is intermittent and has no fixed pattern for reproducing it. We have ruled out that it is not a browser issue, workflow issue, or list related issue. Searching online we have found that this may be due to Property Promotion/Demotion feature which as per the post cannot be disabled in SharePoint Online. So we are stuck and would like to ask the community if something similar has been encountered and what solution was put into place to resolve it.

I tested it on my side, and I reproduced your problem, but occasionally the metadata would display normally after I refreshed the page.

This is a random problem, if this problem affects you a lot, I suggest you go to CA->support->view service request for more help.

If this issue does not affect you much, you can submit new idea on SharePoint Feedback portal.
