How can I prevent Word from silently changing the "Show Markup" settings?

When I set word to show only formatting changes, and only from one person, and then reject all those changes, word then silently switches back to show all changes from all people.

So, if I set word to display only the changes I want to reject, then reject "all changes shown" and then accidentally click again of "reject all changes shown" I suddenly have rejected all changes, not just the ones I set Word to show.

Is there any way to prevent that?

    Hi @Hetzer, Volker,

As per my test, I didn't reproduce this issue on my end.

    MarkUp

Apologize in advance If there is anything wrong with my reproducing process, please feel free to let me know.

Also, as per my knowledge there is no related setting which causes this. Have a try to run Word in safe word and test it on other devices. If the issue still persists, I suggest you can open a ticket with Microsoft as this issue seems to be by accident.

Each time, before rejecting (or accepting) the changes that are currently shown, you have to confirm that you are actually showing the "correct" changes. Word does not save your selection between sessions.

If you want to, you can prevent Word from tracking formatting changes. Clear that option in the Advanced Track Changes Options dialog box. This setting will be saved with the current document. The screen shot below is from Word for Windows.
