What steps do I need to take to get a Acer Aspire 5253(Windows 7) back online?

A relative brought his computer to me to see if I could get it back online. This is an Acer Aspire 5253. It is a Windows 7.The release date was 2010.I believe this pc was manufactured 2011. It has Explorer only only it. I believe it won't go online because explorer is not longer supported(I could be wrong)I believe as of 2/14/2023 explorer was no more. My thinking is I need to upgrade to Windows 10 and I need to somehow install either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, since explorer is no longer working. I think I know what needs to be done, but going about it I'm not sure. I need some help on how to go about it. I need an order on how to go about it.
