Windows Server 2016 Page Fault in non-paged area caused by srv.sys Hello everyone. I am getting page fault in non-paged area on Windows Server 2016, caused by srv.sys. there are many other VMs running smoothly, but every time I try to install active directory DS and DNS server on the Windows Server 2016 VM, I am getting this error. this error only popping up when the system takes first reboot after finishing DC promoting (after installing AD and DNS). and then it continues forever, it comes to the desktop for a maximum of 5 minutes and then gone. If I don't install any AD services, or any kind of role then it is good.

Might try standing up a new one from clean install media, patch it fully, then try to promo it.

The prerequisite before introducing the first 2016 domain controller: domain functional level needs to be 2003 or higher

I'd use dcdiag / repadmin tools to verify health correcting all errors found before starting any operations. Then stand up the new 2016, patch it fully, license it, join existing domain, add active directory domain services, promote it also making it a GC (recommended), transfer FSMO roles over (optional), transfer pdc emulator role (optional), use dcdiag / repadmin tools to again verify health, when all is good you can decommission / demote old one.
