Hi,

When I was working on a certificate issue, I accidentally deleted a certificate template from one of our internal ca issuing servers.

This template is used by all windows servers and dcs. As I am still new to CA infrastructure and the person who set up this is not available, I do not know what's the consequences exactly but I need to fix it.

I am trying to restore it but I did not find a good way of just restoring one template.

Can some one help me out on this pls?

Thank you.

If you deleted template from CA management snap-in, then you only deleted a link, not template itself. In this case, in CA management snap-in, select "Certificate Templates", right-click -> New -> Certificate Template to issue. Select required template from the list and press Ok.

If you deleted template from Certificate Templates MMC, then it is deleted irreversible.

    Hello there,

Did you actually delete the template or just remove it from the list of templates on the issuing ca?

If it is the latter it's just a case of adding it back to the templates to issue.

If you end up needing to use a deleted certificate template again, you can restore it. After you restore a certificate template, it will appear on forms where certificate template data is required, such as creating a certificate profile. It also appears in the list of templates on the Certificate templates page.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
