Hi All,

Our VMware vendor is asking to disable TRIM on the Windows server OS. I need to get recommendations from Microsoft.

If we disable the TRIM what will happen?

I need to know the recommendation.

    Hello there,

By default, Windows will run the retrim optimization on a weekly schedule. Again, just like defragging your SSD isn't a concern, this isn't something you should need to worry about.

Enter the following command: fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify and hit Enter. If the output is DisableDeleteNotify = 1, TRIM is currently disabled on your device.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
