Web Console issue after new SCOM 2022 install

Hi folks, just looking for some advice for an issue I've been banging my head against for a day now.

We have a brand new SCOM 2022 install which is working great with 1 exception. Once BUILTIN\Administrators is removed from the Administrator role with SCOM, as per normal advice/convention, the Web Console stops authenticating for all users. The installed Operations Console still works perfectly. If I re-add BUILTIN\Administrators back to the Administrators role then the Web Console starts working again for all users.

I've used Kevin Holman's guide as the basis for this install: https://kevinholman.com/2022/05/01/scom-2022-quickstart-deployment-guide/. The Web Console is installed on the Management Servers the same as his example.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks,

Steve

    Hi,

In my SCOM 2022 environment, after removing "BUILTIN\Administrators" from "Operations Manager Administrators" role and adding the "domain\user" into the "Operations Manager Operators" role, the Web Console only allow the specific user to login.

For the record, removing NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM which had also been added to the Administrator role at install time fixed this issue. I guess it's related to #2 in the known issues Kevin mentions in his blog (below), although what we were seeing with the web console was the only apparent problem.
