I have raised a request to increase the quota for Azure Batch service (Dedicated vCPUs per VM Series for Av2 series to 20 and Dsv2 series to 20). Once the quota is increased my understanding is that my Total dedicated vCPUs should show as 40. However, I am seeing as 47.

Could you please help why this extra 7 is coming from.

    Hello @Gautam Limboo

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A platform.

It's possible that the extra 7 vCPUs are coming from a different VM series that you have provisioned in your Azure Batch account. The quota increase that you requested only applies to the Av2 and Dsv2 series, so if you have provisioned VMs from other series, they may be contributing to the total number of dedicated vCPUs in your account.

To check which VM series you have provisioned in your Azure Batch account, you can go to the "Pools" section of the Azure Batch account in the Azure portal and look at the VM configuration for each pool. This will show you the VM series and size for each pool.

If you find that you have provisioned VMs from other series, you can either remove them or request a quota increase for those series as well. Alternatively, you can create a new Azure Batch account and provision only the VM series that you need to avoid exceeding your quota.

Also, it is possible that the extra 7 vCPUs are coming from the Standard Dv2 Promo Family, which has a quota of 100 vCPUs. If you have any VMs in this family, they could contribute to the total vCPU count. You can check the vCPU usage for each VM family in the Azure portal to confirm this. Additionally, you can check the usage for each VM size within the Av2 and Dsv2 series to ensure that the quota increase was applied correctly. If you are still unsure about the extra vCPUs, you can contact Azure support for further assistance.

I hope this helps you identify where the extra vCPUs are coming from. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know.

If this does answer your question, please accept it as the answer as a token of appreciation.
