Unable to login to AVD after the session is locked

Hi All,

I am facing a weird issue with my AVD environment. I have enabled the gpo setting which locks the idle session after 5 mins of inactivity. The gpo is working as expected, the session is getting locked after 5 mins but when the users tries to login back, they get the error - "Username or Password incorrect", when we see the password by clicking on the eye button beside the password, the password is correct. But when the session is disconnected and re launched, the user is able to login without any issues. Has anyone faced this issue ?? Pls Help !!

Can you please share the following info:

What AVD client do you use?

Did you enable SSO?

Did you use password hash sync?

Is the VM AAD joined, HAADJ or ADJ?

To connect to the AVD we use the remote desktop client Ver.1.24159

No

NO

AAD Joined

Apart from this i am also experiencing few weird issues with AVD.

Unable to sign-out user from the portal, it just stucks and remains untilT the session host server is restarted.

Temporary profiles are created and once they signout, they are not able to sign-in back, the session shows as active in the portal, tried to login into the sessions host as a local admin but no luck! have to restart, remove the server from hostpool and then need to add the session host back to hostpool.

Anybody else faced these issues ? if so, please help !

Thanks for providing the details. If you are not using password hash sync(PwHS), are you using ADFS?

I would recommend opening a support case to get an AVD support engineer involved to review the config. e.g. does DNS work properly, what is blocking the session log off. The event logs of the session host should give an indication of what is going on. You can start to collect the MSRD-Collect logs here https://aka.ms/MSRD-Collect

Manoj, did you get a fix on this? I am getting the same issue but instead of getting "Username or Password incorrect", I am getting "the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer".

@Rommel Rosales - Nope, I am yet to get a breakthrough here. See if there is any group policy which is causing this Or this could be something related to the appropriate permissions.
