I do not want to see a lock screen ever. I do not want to input a password ever. I do not want to input a pin ever. I do not want facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, or any other bullshit to happen when I turn my computer on.

  1. How do I accomplish this.
  2. How is it not as simple as an easily accessible setting? This is ridiculous.

Microsoft's has been trying hard in recent years to get Windows users to use a Microsoft account to log in to software and services. These efforts mean that Windows 11 also requires most people to enter a password to log in.

As with previous versions, the latest Windows offers options to always automatically log in for the selected user after certain settings are made in the future. Enclosed you will find a short tutorial:

    1. press Windows key + R to bring up the Run dialog box and type "netplwiz" and press Enter.User's image
    2. select account from the list that appears
    3. deselect the "Users must enter username and password" checkbox at the top and click "OK". User's image
    4. enter username and password for the account you want to automatically log in toUser's image
    5. click "OK" and restart computer

Occasionally, however, the very checkbox mentioned above is missing. In this case, you need to edit the registry. Before you make any changes to the Windows registry, it is recommended that you create a backup of the key or registry branch in question. This way, you will have the opportunity to quickly restore the original settings, if necessary.

After you have taken this precaution, you are ready to go. First, start the Registry Editor by entering the command regedit.exe in the Run dialog, which you can reach by pressing Windows key + R, and click OK or press Enter. Confirm the default User Account Control prompt by clicking the Yes button.

Then navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device key. If you type this path into the editor's address bar and press Enter, you'll land in the right place right away.

Now switch to the right part of the window. There, double-click on the DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion entry, which has the value 2 by default. In the edit window that opens, enter 0 as the value instead and accept the change by clicking the OK button. After that you can close the registry editor.

Now call the user account dialog via netplwiz command as described. The checkbox is displayed again and you can set up an account for the autologin.

OMG guys i found the way i think! On my laptop that checkbox wasn't there as well but you have to turn off the setting "for improved security, only allow windows hello sign in..." in settings - accounts - sign in options - additional settings. When that setting is turned off try the steps from @schneider, Tobias again and the checkbox will be there!! Hope everything works now with this I've been searching and being frustrated also for a long time... thx microsoft for being so irritating <3
