Addition:

When the edge newtab turns to 'chrome-search://local-ntp', the newtab looks like this other than show my customize background image:↓↓↓

20230515123230

(Meanwhile, it seems I can't visit https://www.bing.com https://www4.bing.com is ok.

update: Now the internet seems normal I can visit bing, but the newtab still looks like before so it is not just an internet problem)

However, when I use a vpn, then the newtab will be 'edge://newtab' and becomes nomal.

SO how the hell can I see my customize background in a new tab normally?

Don't let me do something unuseful, I need u to tell me WHY Edge newtab page changes from 'edge://newtab' to 'chrome-search://local-ntp'?

    Hi @Chyou ,

This issue seems to be caused by a bad network environment, and thus Edge only loads the default new tab page. Please check your network environment (proxy settings and such), clear cookies and cache, and restart Microsoft Edge.
